This is your child before and after one year of exposure to a new street drug knows as “The Animes.” Police forces are still researching the sources of this substance, but it is known to be very addictive and its side effects are nearly irreversible.
Signs that your child may be under the influence of “The Animes” include:
making an account on deviantART.com - While it appears innocent, this website is actually a black market for different types of “The Animes.” It contains the highest concentration of animes abusers worldwide.
changing their typing habits - If your Honors student starts typing sentences that substitute “teh” for “the” or uses asterisks for actions (i.e., *noms on you XD*) or starts adding -chan to the end of names, “The Animes” have most likely gotten to a near-irreversible state that requires years of therapy.
a sudden interest in Top Ramen - In it’s early stages, your child or loved one may request to eat instant ramen noodles up to a few times a week. At this stage, it is still possible to fix some of the damage “The Animes” have caused. However, if they begin using chopsticks with every meal, you may have no choice but to lock them in their room and confiscate all Hot Topic products.

i don’t know how people can honestly say that Light was cleverer than L..

i mean come on L obviously knew that Light was kira all along even though Light happened to be a step ahead of him sometimes. Still doesn’t stop L from being smarter than him though. He tricked L in the second episode lmfao it really didn’t take him that long

Okay seeing as this was a direct jab at my previous post, let’s discuss this subject heartily~

Yes, even though L’s suspicions never wore down, he was still unable to prove it, and it ultimately led to his death (with the help of Misa and Rem, but even without them, Light would would probably have had complex and elaborate plans to kill him off anyway, it would have just taken him longer). There’s no question that L is smart, like you said, his first appearance involved him getting one up with Light, but after that, pretty much every trick L used against Light wasn’t enough to fool him again. Light was unaware of L’s tactics at the time, which is why L got so much out of him.

But it’s still unfair to just dismiss Light’s intelligence and deem L ‘cleverer’. Light is the only person capable of outsmarting L and use his own tactics against him. He even got L involved in the case in person. Something which he had never done previously.

But I’m aware nothing I say will change anyone’s whose minds are set on L being the best so this rant was totally pointless. And that’s okay. I just had to point out why though.

^WORD

Well L and Light had their own moments when one was “cleverer” than the other

but nothing could beat Light’s timing.

Case in fact: after the discovery of the death note, L wanted to test the 13 day rule with a death row convict. smart move, right? but even before L was able to execute such plan, Light had already read and predicted L’s actions thus through his manipulation of Rem’s feelings, Light was able to prevent L’s plan from taking form. Had Light been too late, L would have tested out the 13 day rule.

!!! How could I forget his timing? That was indeed one of his strongest attributes. Along with a great deal of luck (up until the Takada incident, anyway). Being able to think of ways to manipulate and deceive people and events to his own accord in so little time, even in stressful situations like with Naomi Misora was testimony to his intelligence. She was so close to getting to L but he found a way to turn the tables and get an advantage (i.e., be recruited into the taskforce).

Light is such a complex and well-written character that it’s hard to describe exactly why I think he’s so brilliant.

Just too many feelings for once post.

also some may argue that Light only got the upperhand because of his supernatural aids. However, one must not forget that L had the world’s police force and intelligence agencies at his command and disposal. Also, one must take note that although Light had the Death Note, its only ability was to kill people if you write his/her name down on it. It’s something one cannot use under surveillance. hence the murder notebook’s abilities are very limited. I quote Light kun “The death note is useless!!” Ryuk and Rem wasnt exactly on Light’s side either. Light had to manipulate Rem just so he could be on “Kira’s side”. Do remember that Rem actually HATES light.

While L on the other hand, had literally thousands of people going after Light. The interpol, their contacts in various TV stations, the police, the kira investigation team, the FBI, etc etc. At the start it was the world vs. Light.
